Story: Arriving in the hold of a seventeenth-century pirate ship, the Doctor and his companions soon realize that looting and pillaging is not on the agenda. The frightened crew are stranded on the becalmed vessel, and terrified for their lives: the ship is being stalked by a stealthy creature that hunts the injured members of their party, and its keen senses mean that even one spilt drop of blood is a death sentence.

Rory becomes the latest target when, during a fight with the crew, Amy's sword goes wide and nicks Rory across the fingers. Suddenly, in the middle of his palm, a black spot appears and marks him for death, as an unearthly singing echoes around the ship from the water below... Soon, the crew are visited by a glowing, ephemeral presence, in the form of a beautiful woman, with a bewitching singing voice that lures men to their fate. Unless the Doctor can figure out how to stop the Siren, there will be one more ghost ship in the middle of the Atlantic...
