Story: The Doctor decides to pay a visit to his old mate Craig Owens, now married to his beloved Sophie and a new father to baby Alfie. With Sophie off on a girls' weekend, Craig finds himself taking care of Alfie alone for the first time, and utterly unable to cope. However, Craig's domestic troubles begin to pale by comparison when power fluctuations lead the Doctor to discover an alien invasion of Colchester... again.

Tracking down the source of the fluctuations to local department store Sanderson & Grainger, the Doctor finagles a job as a helper in the toy department. With his newfound network of coworker confidantes, the Doctor soon learns that supervisor Shona has disappeared without a trace, and a silver rat — not, apparently, one of the toy department's new acquisitions — has been spotted zipping around the store floor. With Craig by his side, the Doctor soon confirms his fears: the Cybermen have arrived, and it's up to the two of them to stop the metal men from converting all of Colchester.
