Doctor: eleventh
Companions: Clara

Story: In an attempt to help Clara bond with his ship, the Doctor attempts to teach her the fundamentals of flying the TARDIS. His timing, however, is tragically off: no sooner has he reset the TARDIS to basic mode, thus disabling its shields, than the ship is spotted by the unscrupulous crew of a salvage vessel. Suspecting that the TARDIS may be valuable, the vessel's captain tractors it aboard with a magno-grab beam, which severely damages the TARDIS. In the resulting chaos, Clara becomes trapped in the ship's interior, while the Doctor is flung outside, onto the deck of the salvage vessel.

Frantic for Clara's safety, and furious at the salvage crew, the Doctor tricks the men into coming aboard the damaged TARDIS to help him rescue Clara. Conditions onboard the ship make this a challenging task: along with explosions and failing systems, the TARDIS is also plagued by temporal echoes from the past and the future, and mysterious creatures with glowing red eyes and skin made of ash. As events begin to spiral out of control, the Doctor fears that the TARDIS may be beyond repair, and in order to find out, he and Clara will have to make their way through the dangers to the very heart of the TARDIS...
