Creature Feature: Cybermen

Story: The Doctor agrees to take Clara's two charges, Angie and Artie, on an outing in the TARDIS, in exchange for their keeping Clara's time-travelling secret from their father. Their destination: Hedgewick's World, home to the most famed amusement park in the galaxy. To their disappointment, the TARDIS materializes when the planet has been closed for a year, and the park is overgrown. But the planet has not been completely abandoned: showman Webley has stayed behind, with his menagerie of waxworks and his friend Pudding, and the park is also occupied by a "punishment platoon" of soldiers on an unglamorous assignment to monitor and defend a forgotten world.

Hedgewick's World, Clara learns, was involved in the war against the Cybermen prior to becoming a family-friendly destination. The planet has an excellent vantage point of the nearby Tiberian spiral galaxy, which was entirely destroyed in a maneuver that finally eradicated the Cybermen... or so humanity thought. The Doctor has become suspicious of strange metallic insects roaming Hedgewick's World, and his suspicions are soon justified: the insects are Cybermites, dedicated to monitoring — and converting — the humans remaining on the planet. The untested soldiers soon find themselves with a desperate mission as the Cybermen, who have been hiding under the planet's surface, decide to emerge and re-conquer the galaxy...
