Story: Present-day London: the Doctor and Clara are summoned to UNIT headquarters by Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, on the authority of Queen Elizabeth I. The Queen has bestowed on the Doctor the title of Curator of the Undergallery, a top-secret repository for art that is considered to be too dangerous for public consumption. Among these works of art, to the Doctor's surprise, are several paintings from Gallifrey... and from several of these paintings, something has escaped.

England, 1562: A relaxing picnic between the tenth Doctor and Queen Elizabeth I is interrupted by the arrival of a shapeshifting Zygon. While trying to keep Elizabeth safe, and deduce the Zygons' plans for Earth, the tenth Doctor is surprised when a time fissure opens up in mid-air... and disgorges a fez.

Arcadia, Gallifrey: During the final day of the Time War, as the Daleks raze Arcadia to the ground, a mysterious figure carves a message in a wall to the warring parties: "NO MORE". Shortly thereafter, the Time Lord War Room is whipped into a frenzy of activity when they discover that the Doctor has returned to Gallifrey, and he has stolen their most powerful weapon, which they have never before dared to use against the Daleks. For if the Doctor activates the Moment, all of Gallifrey will be annihilated...
