Story: When a sleep-research lab in orbit around Neptune suddenly falls silent, a rescue team is dispatched from Triton to investigate. On arrival, they discover, in rapid succession: the Doctor and Clara, posing as structural engineers; towering ravenous monsters, made of dust, that consume human flesh; and Gagan Rassmussen, the inventor of the widely-used Morpheus machines, which allow competitive workaholics to compress an entire month's worth of sleep into just five minutes.

Rassmussen is the lone survivor on board Le Verrier station, forced into hiding when the shambling monsters began their rampage. The Doctor immediately suspects that the dust creatures are somehow linked to Rassmussen's upgraded experimental Morpheus machines, but will he be able to uncover the truth before the Sandmen claim them all?
