Story: Sightseeing in 1903 New York is interrupted when the Doctor detects an unusual energy signature, which she traces to the Niagara power plant at the base of the falls. Upon investigating, she lands right in the middle of an armed shootout with an alien assassin, so she promptly rescues the innocent bystanders and heads for an escape train.

En route to New York City, the TARDIS crew discover that the Doctor has just rescued none other than Nikola Tesla, inventor extraordinaire, who was in Niagara to pitch his innovative Wardenclyffe project to skeptical investors. Stranger yet, that unusual energy signature has travelled right along with him, and the Doctor soon learns that Tesla has come into possession of a powerful alien object which has the potential to change the course of his entire life.
