Story: The precious cargo of a space train is endangered when a group of Cybermen attack... and though the Doctor, Yaz, and Dan intervene and save lives, they fail to stop the Cybermen from succeeding in their mission.

London, present day: UNIT welcomes back the Doctor's former companions Ace and Tegan Jovanka, who have been investigating, respectively, the removal of 15 of the world's most famous paintings, and the mysterious disappearance of a group of seismologists, on the same day that Tegan received a mysterious package from the Doctor containing a Cyberman doll. No-one believes this sequence of events is coincidental.

In Bolivia, despite Yaz's certainty that they're walking into a trap, the Doctor risks meeting secretly with a Kaled traitor who promises to tell her how to defeat the Daleks for good.

And in St Petersburg, 1916, as a second moon hangs in the sky, Rasputin is summoned back to the Winter Palace by a tsar and tsarina concerned about their child's health, only for them to suddenly decide that what they really need is a long holiday elsewhere. For Rasputin — or is he? — has set in motion a chain of events that's guaranteed to mean the end of the Doctor.
