Story: As the TARDIS careers wildly off-course, it crashlands in a disused room on what appears to be a gigantic spaceship. The Doctor and Donna quickly vacate the console room before it's consumed by flames, leaving the TARDIS in desperate need of repair, which the Doctor hastens by plugging the sonic screwdriver into the TARDIS keyhole. But moments later, the TARDIS abruptly dematerializes — leaving the Doctor and Donna stranded, without the TARDIS and the sonic screwdriver.

The Doctor puts Donna's mind at ease by theorizing that the TARDIS hasn't abandoned them, but has rather displaced itself temporarily due to the reactivation of its Hostile Action Displacement System. Rather than being entirely comforted, Donna immediately understands the implication that somewhere on board this vast ship is a hostile entity so terrifying that it made the TARDIS run away... leaving them with no escape, and no protection but their wits.
