Megalomaniac of the Week: Maestro

Story: With the opportunity to visit any point in time and space, Ruby asks to see the Beatles recording their very first album, so the Doctor pilots the Tardis to February 11, 1963. Dolled up to the nines, Ruby and the Doctor make their way to the future Abbey Road Studios, and worm their way into a recording studio where the Beatles... record an absolute flop of an unoriginal song. Both piqued and worried, the Doctor pokes his head into more recording sessions, with Cilla Black and an orchestra, only to find that all of their performances are uninspired and atonal.

For some reason, music — or at least, good music — has vanished from the world, which now seems to be on a razor's edge of tension, not to mention gloom. But when the Doctor suggests that Ruby might bring music back into the world, by playing the piano on a London rooftop, her performance unleashes a being who had already established a foothold in London in 1925: Maestro, the demonic demi-god of music, whose only aim is to claim all music for themself...
