Story: The Doctor and Belinda nearly make it home, when the TARDIS arrives in London on New Year's Day... but in 2007, disappointingly. Their arrival is witnessed by eight-year-old Conrad Clark, who's gifted a 50p piece by the Doctor; but when he runs to tell his mother, she assumes he's making it up.

In 2024, Conrad spots the TARDIS again, materialized outside a derelict warehouse. On investigating, he attracts the attention of an alien creature, which splatters him with goo — unbeknownst to the Doctor and Ruby, who promptly dispatch the creature back to its home dimension before leaving, but not before Conrad snaps their picture with his phone.

By 2025, Conrad has found success as a podcaster specializing in unexplained phenomena, spurred by his childhood obsession with the Doctor. Seeing an opportunity to finally prove the Doctor's existence, he manages to book Ruby onto his show... and to their mutual surprise, it turns out they have a lot in common — both interests, and traumas — and chemistry between them blossoms. But the alien creature that the Doctor banished has clawed its way back into our dimension, and Conrad is still marked as a target of its hunt...
