Story: Leaving Jackie and Mickey behind, the Doctor decides to take Rose further into the future than they've ever been, although still in the same neighborhood: the year five billion and twenty-three, when humanity - nostalgic over the recent death of the Earth - converges on a similar planet and christens it New Earth. Rose is wowed by the spectacle of New New York, but the Doctor reveals an underlying reason behind their visit: he has received an anonymous message, asking him to visit a particular ward of a futuristic hospital on the city's outskirts.

While the Doctor ventures up to Ward 26 and meets an old friend, Rose - bedazzled by the aliens and bewildered by the technology - ends up in the basement, whe she encounters another old friend. Both of them begin to realize that the hospital, for all its miraculous healing powers, is hiding a dark secret, and Rose may not be in much of a position to help, because she's not quite feeling herself...
