Story: Elton Pope is just an ordinary bloke: he likes football, he likes a drink, he likes Spain, and he really really likes the music of Jeff Lynne and his Electric Light Orchestra. But for all his normality, Elton has the uncanny habit of ending up in otherworldly situations: the middle of an attack by living shop-window dummies, spaceships zooming overhead, and the presence of a mysterious man in his home when he was just a young boy. Many years later, Elton finally learns that his mystery visitor was a man known as the Doctor - but what was he doing in Elton's home?
Driven to solve the mystery of his past, Elton teams up with Ursula Blake, a fellow Doctor-sleuth who he meets online, and a small group of like-minded others. As they organize regular meetings, trying to learn more about the Doctor and possibly even track him down, they find themselves becoming a tight-knit circle of friends, and suddenly, worrying about the Doctor seems less important than sharing the joys and the sorrows of each other's lives. That is, until the day that the sinister Victor Kennedy arrives to take charge... and everything changes.
